“Herbalism has always been a dream of mine.
Something I wanted to learn for years and after having completed a 4 year degree in botany, it seemed like the perfect time to explore that deeper. However, I had a very specific mentor in mind that I wanted to work with. I found that mentor in Darcey. I loved learning about and
exploring the vast knowledge that Darcey has about plants as medicine not only from a stance of science and clinical practice, but also from a metaphysical and spiritual aspect. For me, plants have never been just another thing in this world to exploit, but rather beings to engage with. Relationships to make. Friendships to explore. This philosophy is exactly where Darcey
works from. How to be an herbalist that is engaging with a realm of “allies” as she calls them.
Friends.
We learned everything from specific constituents in the plants, to the mechanics of the human body (organs, organ systems), to ayurvedic perspectives and land stewardship. I was lucky enough to end my apprenticeship with Darcey in a 3-day vision quest where I went into the woods for 3 days and fasted, slept alone, and prayed with Darcey as my mentor and gate-keeper. If you are interested in this, then you should totally inquire further, because it was one of the most transformational and memorable 3 days of my whole life. I HIGHLY recommend Darcey’s mentorship if you are interested in diving in deeper to your relationship with yourself, with the land around you, with plants as your friends and medicine keepers and ancient ceremonial practices.
With all my Love and high regards,”

“The Apprenticeship is a dream for anyone who loves the land and wants to learn more about the medicinal plants in this area. It was wonderful to have this time devoted to exploring the landscape and really listening to what the plants have to offer with Darcey as our guide. I also appreciated watching her ways of honoring the plants; using what the land has to offer in a way that conveys the utmost respect for these special and wild beings. I regularly use the plant medicine making techniques we learned. This is such a lovely apprenticeship for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in plant medicine.” - Brianna

Making the choice to join Darcey’s Apprenticeship was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life! I am so glad I listened to that voice within and went for it.
The richness of my experience learning from Darcey is unparalleled. She is absolutely connected to the Plant World and Mama Gaia in ways that are so deep, so grounded, and so magical all at the same time. The ways in which she guided us to connect with plants have completely translated into all aspects of my life and my work. To deeply listen, and stand in reverence for the immense beauty, Magic, and medicine of this planet is life altering.
Because of Darcey’s Apprenticeship, I now feel so empowered to care for myself, my family, my clients, friends, and Mother Earth in much deeper ways. I can make effective medicine and commune with the plant world. I’ve gained insight into ways I can better support myself and everyone else in my life through plant medicine. I feel in integrity with the plants while collecting them and working with them. And in integrity with my highest, ancestral self as well because Darcey is simply reminding us all of the gifts and power that already reside within us and all around us.
